With a sloping site between the Mississippi interstate and a commercial office park, the Jackson production facility had to address two very separate design directions. By utilizing exposed timber framing, local red brick and stucco, the facility is able to blend with the local architecture, even with the use of more technological materials such as Alucobond metal panels, expanded metal lath, exposed steel structure and large sheets of unobstructed glass. The blend of these two distinctly different styles satisfied the owner’s desire to reference the old architecture while creating a new and vibrant dialogue in a prominent location.
