The interior is the collaboration of two forces – public and private. Focusing on the picturesque oaks and pines, natural gathering spaces, and filtered sunlight, the new skin opens the perimeter of the building to embrace the landscape. By placing the work areas around two three-story atriums, they possess a sense of openness while the employees are rewarded with natural sunlight and tree-house views of the 30+ year old oaks.
Using the analogy of “Main Street”, the building circulation can be viewed as roadways connecting various departments, or “neighborhoods”. These neighborhoods have their own identities, yet come together to form an organization or “town”. Major intersections become gathering nodes, offering opportunity for interaction, collaboration, and creativity.
